Driveway & Patio Paver Installations

A luxury‑grade, educational overview of our ICPI‑aligned process for pedestrian and vehicular applications.

Pedestrian Install

Patios • Walkways • Courtyards

Pavers

Concrete or porcelain; pattern as specified.

~1" Bedding Sand

ASTM C33 concrete sand; screeded uniform.

4–8" Compacted Base

Graded aggregate, compacted in 3–4" lifts.

Prepared Subgrade

Proof‑rolled; soft spots remediated.
Best for living spaces.
Ideal for patios, paths, and courtyards. Comfort & finish quality prioritized.
Slope & drainage.
Plan 1–2% slope away from structures; integrate drains as required.
Step 1 Planning & Mark‑Out
Confirm use, elevations, and water management. Call utility locates as needed.
Step 2 Excavation & Subgrade
Excavate to allow base + 1" bedding + paver. Remove organics; proof‑roll and remediate soft spots.
Step 3 Base Installation
Place graded aggregate in 3–4" lifts. Compact to ≥95–98% density; verify slopes and flatness.
Step 4 Bedding & Lay Pavers
Screed 1" bedding sand; place pavers to stringlines. Blend colors from multiple cubes.
Step 5 Edge, Sand, Compact
Install edge restraint; sweep joint sand; compact with protective pad; top off; clean; optional seal.

Vehicular Install

Driveways • Motor Courts

Pavers

Vehicular‑rated; borders & restraints as specified.

~1" Bedding Sand

ASTM C33 concrete sand; do not pre‑compact.

6–12" Compacted Base

Stabilized Subgrade

Proof‑rolled; remediate weak areas; geotextile if specified.
Built for loads.
Engineered for passenger vehicles and service traffic; edges anchored.
ICPI/NCMA aligned.
Compaction, edge restraint, and joint stabilization follow recognized standards.
Step 1 Planning, Grades & Utilities
Confirm elevations with ~2% slope; stake layout; verify utilities.
Step 2 Excavation & Subgrade
Excavate for thicker base; stabilize soft soils; install geotextile if specified.
Step 3 Base Installation
Install graded aggregate in compacted lifts (6–12"+). Achieve ≥98% density; maintain plane & slope.
Step 4 Bedding & Lay Pavers
Screed 1" bedding sand. Lay to pattern and stringlines; cut/fit borders; anchor edges.
Step 5 Joint Sand, Compaction & Finish
